Cuyahoga County Citizen Corps

The Citizen Corps in Cuyahoga County is currently comprised of 14 organizations (5 partners and 9 affiliates). The partners are: CERT, Fire Corps, Medical Reserve Corps, USA on Watch (aka Neighborhood Watch), and Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS), while the affiliates are: the American Red Cross, Animals’ Disaster Team (ADT), Case Western Reserve University, Greater Cleveland Regional Transit Authority Police, Jewish Community Federation, Mandel Jewish Community Center, the Medical Center Company, Metro Health System, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, the Temple-Tifereth Israel, and Young Israel of Greater Cleveland. Collectively, under the banner of Citizen Corps there are approximately 4,500 trained volunteers in Cuyahoga County.

The mission of Citizen Corps is to harness the power of every individual through education, training, and volunteer service to make communities safer, stronger, and better prepared to respond to threats of terrorism, crime, public health issues and disasters of all kinds.
