Violence Against Women Act STOP Block Grant Program: Block grant funds awarded to the State of Ohio are administered by Cuyahoga County to fund law enforcement, prosecution, victim service and court programs serving adult female victims of domestic violence, stalking and sexual assault. A committee of community experts meets annually to review applications and recommend sub-awards.
Domestic Violence Shelter Advisory Board: In Ohio, portions of marriage license application fees and filing fees for divorces and dissolutions of marriage are dedicated to domestic violence shelter services. A Board appointed by the Board of County Commissioners reviews applications from qualifying shelter programs and recommends the proportional allocation of these funds to shelters meeting established criteria.
Violence Against Women Act Safe Havens Project: With support from the Office on Violence Against Women of the U.S. Department of Justice and in collaboration with Domestic Violence Center, this grant supports the operation of the local supervised visitation and safe exchange of children project to promote safe contact between children and their non-custodial parent.
