Cuyahoga Emergency Communications System

CECOMS is a 24-Hour, 7-Day a week, emergency communication system for Cuyahoga County established in 1985. CECOMS’ primary service is to coordinate cellular and wireless 9-1-1 calls, establish and coordinate ambulance to hospital communications, and implement and maintain the Cuyahoga County Hospital Restriction Program and Override Policy. In addition, CECOMS coordinates communications with police and fire departments and other health care agencies. CECOMS is also the contact point for all Emergency Alert System (EAS) broadcasts for Cuyahoga County and all AMBER ALERT broadcasts for a nine county area in Northeast Ohio.
