Anti-Terrorism Training for First Responders

February 25-26, 2014

Course provides technical operations and awareness training for law enforcement, firefighters, and other personnel who have a significant responsibility for providing a response to Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) incidents involving explosives and incendiary materials.

Classroom Topics:

  • Understanding the Terrorist Threat
  • Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs)
  • Safety Issues
  • Departmental or Agency Policies to Ensure Compliance with Local Requirements


Funding for this training is provided by the FY2011 Urban Area Security Initiative Grant.   Employers of Public Safety attendees may be eligible for reimbursement of overtime expenditures paid to students who attend this training.  Check with Larry Tafe at for eligibility requirements.  Overtime reimbursement will be limited at up to four hours per attendee.
