With the transformation to a Charter-form of county government, in 2011 the Cuyahoga County Department of Public Safety and Justice Services was established. The Department encompasses all divisions that previously existed under the County’s former Department of Justice Affairs. In addition to descriptions of the Department’s various operations, programs and services, on this website you will also find information about emergency preparedness, trainings, citizen volunteers, current publications, grant announcements, public safety communications updates, and other valuable resources.
FY22 Violence Against Women Act Grant Program (VAWA)
The grant program enhances the capacity of local communities to develop and strengthen effective law enforcement and prosecution strategies to combat violent crimes against women and to develop and strengthen victim services in cases involving violent crimes against women.

Cuyahoga County Department of Public Safety and Justice Services FY2022 STOP Violence Against Women Act Request for Proposals is now open. If interested, please submit a completed application along with attachments no later than August 1, at 12:00 p.m., via email to:
