Employee Recognition Program

Please give a warm round of applause for the Department of Justice Affairs' two 4th Quarter 2009 award recipients!  They are:
  • Distinctive Performance Award - Martha Newman, Program Officer, Manager Kathryn Maher (Grants & Training)
     
  • Customer Service Award - Shelley Greller, Program Officer, Manager Susan, Organiscak (Office of Mediation)
     

    A ceremony for award recipients and their Divisions or Units was held on Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at the Justice Center - 1st fl. Auditorium.



In order for the Department of Justice Affairs to carry out its mission, it is important to recognize that employees play a significant role in determining the success of our organization because they understand the day-to-day work activities and are in a good position to offer suggestions that might lead to improvements in quality, operations and services.

The Employee Recognition Program was created to recognize and honor the achievements and contributions of loyal, committed employees who consistently demonstrate performance excellence and who go the extra mile to provide professional quality service on the job or in their community.
Employee Recognition Nomination Form

Purpose

The purpose of these awards is to:
  • Recognize and honor the achievements of employees who have helped Justice Affairs live up to its vision, mission and goals.
  • Acknowledge employees whose dedication, competence and exemplary performance has increased agency efficiency, enhanced agency pride and increased employee morale.
  • Recognize employees whose contributions have made a significant impact in areas of customer service, new programs or cost savings to the department.

Award Eligibility, Criteria & Nomination Process

The employees are eligible for nomination if they:

  • Are employed in good standing: active pay status; not in disciplinary status.
  • Have been with the agency for at least one year.
  • Do not hold a managerial position

Outstanding Attendance

An employee has perfect attendance
throughout each quarter.


Nominee:

  • An employee has perfect attendance throughout each quarter.
  • An employee is punctual and on-time everyday.
  • No sick time taken excluding FMLA or other approved leaves.


Nomination Process

  • All eligible staff may be nominated for an award.
  • Someone else must nominate individuals.
  • Nominees must meet specific criteria for their category.
  • A Nomination Form must be completed; including clearly stated reasons why the person is being nominated.
  • All nominations must be submitted 30 days before the end of the current quarter.
  • Individuals can be nominated more than once during any calendar year.
  • Nominees will receive notification of their nomination by the Selection Committee.

Nomination Forms

Nomination Forms are emailed on a quarterly basis and also may be obtained from:
  • Department of Justice Affairs Website
  • ERP Program Coordinator.
All forms are to be submitted to the ERP Program Coordinator
    The ERP Steering Committee will consist of the Senior Managers and Executive Assistant from Justice Affairs. In their absence they may assign a delegate to serve in their place.

    Employee Recognition Program Selection Committee

    The ERP Selection Committee shall consist of two representatives from each of the three divisions of the Department of Justice Affairs. Each Committee member shall serve for three quarters in the year. During the first year the Committee members shall be assigned to a one, two or three quarter time period. Thereafter the Steering Committee shall select candidates from the appropriate Division as vacancies occur.
