Course Description:
This four-day course design provides local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities, and capabilities of an effective Planning Section Chief (PSC) on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team. These responsibilities fall into two categories: PSC duties 1) managing the planning cycle and 2) tracking resources and incident status. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable students to process and apply their new knowledge (there is no charge to attend this course).

Who Should Attend?

NIMS ICS All-Hazards Position-Specific training should be completed by personnel who are regularly assigned to functional, support, or unit leader positions on United States Fire Administration (USFA) or other Type III All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT), or by those persons who desire to seek credentials/certification in those positions.

Students must complete the following FEMA Independent Study online courses and the ICS-300 Intermediate course listed below (copies of your course completion certificates must accompany your application).

FEMA Student Identification (SID) number

All students attending this course must have a FEMA Student Identification (SID) number in order to receive a certificate of complete from FEMA's Emergency Management Institute (EMI).
