2018 -SKYWARN - SPOTTER Training

The Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management
and
the National Weather Service (NWS) – Cleveland presents:

 

Each spring, the National Weather Service Cleveland Office provides training for members of Fire and Police Departments, Emergency Management Officials, Amateur Radio Operators and weather-interested citizens on weather spotting techniques. The training is coordinated by the Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management and is conducted by a National Weather Service Meteorologist. Topics to be covered include:  

  •  Basics of thunderstorm development
  •  Fundamentals of storm structure
  •  Identifying potential severe weather features
  •  How to recognize tornados
  •  Information to report
  •  How to report information
  •  Basic severe weather safety
