THIS WORKSHOP IS FOR EMERGENCY COORDINATORS, FIRE & POLICE CHIEFS ONLY

The Cuyahoga County Office of Emergency Management (CCOEM) will host another Spring Emergency Coordinators Workshop on April 5, 2017 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Northeast Ohio Regional Sewer District (NEORSD) , 4747 E. 49th Street Cuyahoga Hts. OH.

This workshop is intended to share important information and strengthen communications between CC OEM and municipal emergency management officials.

After CCOEM staff provides a brief overview of Emergency Management updates, the remaining time will focus on the OH-605 IA (individual assistance) DA (damage assessment) course to be presented by a representative from the Ohio Emergency Management Agency.  The two-hour course will review city, county, and state roles and procedures in conducting damage assessment following severe weather events. As some of the damage criteria and thresholds were adjusted, this will be a great opportunity to review the changes and refresh your awareness of corresponding procedures.

Topics to be covered include:

-An overview of the Individual Assistance Process

-Federal Disaster Declaration Process/Criteria for Private and Public Sector Impacts                                            

-Local Damage Assessment information reporting methods and standards for Private/Public Sectors -Composition or membership of damage assessment teams The Damage Assessment
